For all the work involved, think I'm simply going to watch the VHS tapes on a TV. I may convert my old VHS to DVD, the whole point was to watch them on my PC. Other Thoughts: I would spend the extra money to get a recording VCR/DVD unit. I have a 10yr old Magnavox VCR/DVD combo unit that can convert VHS and burn directly to DVD.some video quality lost, but 10 times better than VC500.
It must be, because the VC500 shows up everywhere as the number 1 pick. I have a Diamond video card which is awesome, mid-level gaming rig, so I guess this is a difficult conversion to attempt.
Hooked VCR back up to TV, picture quality excellent (within the confines of VHS). Tried a couple of different VHS tapes with same results. Did not use S-video cable, don't know if it would have helped. Pros: Nicely packaged, all necessary cables, installation went without a hitch.Ĭons: Video conversion was horrible.
